STORYLINES
The Black Knights begin their postseason at one of the most competitive conference tournaments in the nation. The EIWA received the second-most qualifiers out of any conference in the nation with 51, trailing only the Big Ten who garnered 71 of the 284 qualifiers.
Army has been successful at the tournaments it has competed at this season. The team placed second at the New York State Championships at the end of November with five Cadets advancing to championship matches. The Black Knights followed that up with a program-best 14th-place finish at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational while holding three podium spots. Following a performance that placed the Black Knights 18th at the Southern Scuffle to open 2016, Army won its first All-Academy Championship in eight years to close out its regular season tournament slate.

ARMY AT THE EIWA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Army returns to the EIWA Championships after placing 10th out of 15 teams last season. Four Cadets placed in the top-six of their weight classes, which earned them a trip to the NCAA Championships. Russell Parsons Jr. finished fifth at 157 pounds while Cole Gracey saw a similar result at 165. Two-time NCAA qualifier Brian Harvey placed fourth at 174 pounds, and three-time NCAA qualifier Bryce Barnes was fifth at 197 pounds.
The Black Knights lone team championship came in 1987 when all 10 Army wrestlers earned a top-five finish, including the 126-pound champion, Todd Messitt. Their last individual champion was 149-pounder Matthew Kyler in 2010.
ARMY WEST POINT (3-7, 2-3 EIWA) NOTES
The Black Knights who qualify for the NCAA Championships will travel to the world's most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, in New York City March 17-19 to compete against the nation's best wrestlers.
