LAST TIME OUT
Army went undefeated on the weekend with victories over Marist (6-1), Fordham (4-3), and NJIT (6-1). Senior Carolyn Pitman garnered Patriot League Player of the Week and AAA Athlete of the Week Honors for her performance going 2-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles.
Each of Pitman's singles victories came in the top flight. In her first weekend of playing in multiple singles matches, the senior defeated Fordham's previously unbeaten Estelle Wong, 6-0, 6-3 before topping Nathalie Habegger of NJIT, 6-2, 6-1. Pitman now has 66 career singles wins, one shy of entering the top 10 in school history and owns a 3-1 record in 2016.
Pitman moved to 10-0 on the season in doubles, pairing with Kirby Einck for two victories and Nancy Porter for the other. The West Chester, Ohio, native now sits in a tie for second all-time with Megan Noble with 97 career doubles wins. She has a chance to become just the second player in academy history to reach 100 career wins in doubles this weekend.
Einck and Porter each have winning streaks in singles of five straight while Einck has won seven straight doubles matches.
Senior Haley O'Connor won versus Amanda Helminsky of the Highlanders in the sixth singles spot. O'Connor ultimately won 6-7, 7-6, 10-6 for her second victory of the spring season. Junior Caroline Lorenzini also improved to 5-0 in doubles this season with two wins.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
The Bobcats are still searching for their first victory of the spring season after losing their opening four matches. Sitilia Rencheli earned MAAC Player of the Week honors for her performance last weekend. The VCU transfer won her lone singles match while pairing with Sophia Dzulynsky to win twice and improve their current winning streak to four straight.
SCOUTING SIENA
Siena has not played in nearly a month since losing to Binghamton 4-3 on February 7. Allysa Singh has been unbeatable to date in the number four singles position. The senior is 3-0 in the spring after winning her three fall matches.
SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND
Rhody has lost five of its six this spring including a 4-1 loss in their last competition versus Brown on February 20. Taylor Holden is back for the Rams after a strong sophomore campaign in which she went 10-5 in the number one singles flight.
