Men’s Basketball Hosts Semifinal Sunday

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point men's basketball team continues its run in the Patriot League Tournament when the No. 4 Black Knights host No. 9 Holy Cross in the semifinal round on Sunday. The game will tip off at noon and can be seen on CBS Sports Network.

Seniors Tanner Plomb, Kevin Ferguson and Kyle Wilson earned First, Second and Third Team All-Patriot League honors, respectively. In addition to his second-team nod, Ferguson landed on the conference's inaugural all-defensive team.
Army advanced to the semifinal round after a 79-72 win over No. 5 Colgate on Thursday night at Christl Arena. Tanner Plomb scored 23 points, Kevin Ferguson recorded a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds and Kyle Wilson scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half to lead the Black Knights offensively. As a team, Army shot 48.1 percent (26-for-54) and only turned the ball over seven times.
Holy Cross enters the game with a 12-19 overall record and was 5-13 in Patriot League play. Army and Holy Cross split the two regular-season meetings with each team winning on its home court. The Crusaders defeated No. 8 Loyola in the Patriot League Tournament First Round (72-67) before knocking off top-seeded Bucknell in double overtime. Holy Cross won both games on the road after going 0-9 in road conference games during the regular season.
Army has played 21 games with its regular starting lineup of Dylan Cox, Kyle Wilson, Plomb, Larry Toomey and Kevin Ferguson. In those games, Army is 15-6, averages 82 points per game, and outscores its opponents by 4.5 points per game thanks to an average of 9.4 threes per game. Cox has a 102-46 assist-to-turnover ratio, Wilson is scoring 16.9 points per game and Ferguson averages 14.3 points and 10.5 rebounds. When Ferguson and Plomb both start, Army has an 18-6 record.
In the 10 contests without its traditional starting five, Army's scoring drops to 71.4 points per game and the Black Knights are making 8.4 threes per game. The Black Knights are 4-6 in those games.
Kevin Ferguson is the conference's all-time leader in field goal percentage. He led the league with a 61.2 percent shooting percentage during the regular season and was first in rebounding with 9.7 per game. His 3.89 offensive rebounds per game ranks 12th in the nation. In addition, Ferguson averages 13.6 points per game and has totaled 12 double doubles, which is the highest total in the league.
Tanner Plomb is 30th in the country and leads the Patriot League in scoring with 20.2 points per game. He is currently 14th in Academy history in scoring with 1,328 career points. He ranks third in the conference in three-point field-goal percentage at 36.1 percent and is third in three-pointers made with 74 on the year.
Kyle Wilson averaged 16.2 points per game, which was fourth in the Patriot League. He led the conference in three-pointers per game (3.13) and was 20th in the nation in that category. Wilson's 96 threes rank 12th in the NCAA and are fourth on Army's single-season list.
Together, Wilson and Plomb were the top scoring duo in the Patriot League last year with an average of 33.3 points per game. Wilson was first in scoring in the conference at 17.5 points per game, while Plomb ranked fourth overall with a 15.8 points per game average. Plomb and Wilson are the top scoring duo in the Patriot League in 2015-16 at 36.4 points per game.

NEW VISITOR POLICY AT WEST POINT
Starting Jan. 10, people using a driver's license from the states of Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico or Washington will have to use another approved form of identification in order to enter West Point and all other military installations, due to federal guidelines. If you possess a valid Department of Defense issued identification card, this new requirement does not affect your ability to enter military installations.
Acceptable alternate forms of identification are a U.S. passport, a permanent resident card/Alien Registration Receipt Card (form 1-551), a foreign passport with a temporary I-551 stamp or visa or an employment authorization document that contains a photograph (Form I-766).
