Softball Welcomes Siena for Mid-Week Doubleheader

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Riding a seven-game winning streak and a 4-0 unbeaten mark at home, the Army West Point softball team welcomes Siena for a mid-week non-conference doubleheader at the Army Softball Complex. The Black Knights and Saints will square-off at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Renee Poirier continues to excel as Army's closer as she picked up three saves this past week. This bumped her to seven on the season which broke the Army single season saves record, and the freshman pitcher ranks tied for third in career saves. Kasey McCravey also set a school record last week after she hit a home run to break Army's career home run record with 22.

Kristen West earned three wins in the circle last week to improve her season record to 11-1, the best mark in the Patriot League.

The Black Knights are now on a seven-game win streak that dates back to March 18, and are 4-0 at home with a win over Fairfield and a three-game sweep over Boston U.

The Cadets are tops in the Patriot League in a number of categories. They are first in hits with 249 and second in batting avg. (.309), on base percentage (.376) and RBI (119).

Siena is now 9-8 overall after defeating Holy Cross 8-5 and 5-2 last Saturday. Madysen Cossack leads the Saints with a .341 batting average and is 15-for-44 with nine RBI.

Army leads Siena 8-4-1 in the all-time series, and the two teams competed to one of three ties in program history last season when the weather caused their game to be called in the sixth inning with a score of 1-1.
