Baseball Entertains Siena on Tuesday Afternoon

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point baseball team plays its final tuneup before conference play begins when it takes on Siena in a midweek tilt at Johnson Stadium at Doubleday Field. The Black Knights host the Saints in a single game Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., before welcoming Lafayette to West Point for a four-game weekend series.

The Black Knights bring a 9-13 record in the contest, while Siena carries a 4-15 overall mark, including a 1-2 MAAC record.

Army jumped out to a 5-0 lead in game two of Saturday's doubleheader at Seton Hall and split the twinbill with an 8-2 victory over the Pirates. The victory ended a three-game losing skid for Army and also snapped Seton Hall's 12-game winning streak. Stu Schley went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead the Black Knights' offensive effort. Kris Lindner and Keegan Vega each contributed two hits and Josh White, John McCarthy and Jacob Page recorded one apiece.

Lindner leads the team with 11 multiple-hit games and McCarthy has a team-high seven games with at least two runs batted in. Lindner leads the squad with a .341 batting average and Army's sophomore shortstop has a team-best 27 runs. McCarthy's 23 RBI is tied for the Patriot League lead with Navy's Sean Trent.

Siena comes into Tuesday's contest after losing two of three games this past weekend to Niagara as they opened conference play. Siena dropped its first 11 games of the year, but has gone 4-4 over its last eight games.
