Women’s Lacrosse Welcomes Howard on Tuesday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team will look to rebound on Tuesday, after falling in its Patriot League opener over the weekend, when the Black Knights host Howard at 4 p.m. at Michie Stadium. The game will mark the final nonconference contest of the season for the Black Knights.

Army slipped to a 17-4 defeat against Lafayette in the Patriot League opener for both teams on March 19. Sophomore Rachel Hornick and freshman Nikki Polhamus each scored twice in the setback, while freshman goalkeeper Kayla Rowley finished with three saves.
ARMY WEST POINT (4-4, 0-1 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Polhamus ranks second on the team with 13 goals and 16 points and leads the Black Knights with a three-game goal streak.
• Sophomore Amy Johnston was held without a goal for the first time this season in the Lafayette game, but leads the team with 17 goals, eight assists and 25 points. Her 25 points are seventh best in the Patriot League.
• Johnston also lists second in the league with 3.75 draw controls per game (30 total).
• As a team, the Black Knights lead the Patriot League with a .504 shooting percentage and stand second in the conference with 18.12 ground balls per game.
HOWARD (0-5, 0-0 ATLANTIC SUN) NOTES
• Howard finishes out a three-game road trip to the state of New York with Tuesday's game at Army after previously facing St. Bonaventure (March 16) and LIU Brooklyn (March 19).
• The Bison dropped an 18-4 decision at LIU Brooklyn in their last outing, with redshirt senior Taylor Gainey, junior Taylor Spencer, and freshmen Aaliyah Cash and Assata Khalfani providing goals.
• Sophomore Natia Warren paces Howard with 11 goals, 19 ground balls and 13 draw controls.
• Tuesday will be Howard's final nonleague game of the season, as the Bison are set to begin Atlantic Sun play on April 1 against Furman.
