Golf Prepares for Seahawk Intercollegiate

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point golf team will conclude its spring break training trip with an appearance in the Seahawk Intercollegiate March 20-21 at the Country Club of Landfall.
Last season, Army finished third at the Seahawk Invitational with a total of 296-290-300—886 strokes. Peter Kim led the Black Knights at two-over (218) to tie for third, while Dean Sakata was eighth with a five-over score of 221.
Army will return to the Ocean & Marsh Course that plays at 6,916 yards with a par of 72. Other teams in attendance will be host UNC-Wilmington, No. 20 Duke, James Madison, Elon, Rhode Island, Rutgers, Campbell, Drexel, George Mason, Western Carolina, Richmond and Francis Marion.
The Black Knights will utilize the five-man roster of Sakata, Kim, Justin Pagila, Marcus Plunkett and Nick Turner. Matt Plunkett, Eric Peng and Parker Harris will be playing as individuals for the Black Knights.
Earlier this season, the Cadets competed in the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational where they placed 11th. Sakata and Marcus Plunkett led Army as they both tied for 22nd. Sakata carded a 72 on the final day, while Plunkett stroked 74 to both finish six-over at the invitational. Matt Plunkett finished T-36th with a total of 80-74-72—226.
