Women’s Lacrosse Back in Action This Weekend

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team returns to Michie Stadium this weekend, as the Black Knights host Central Connecticut State on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m.
Army is coming off a 14-9 setback against Manhattan in its first varsity game on Feb. 12. Saturday's game marks the middle of Army's three-game homestand to open the season.
The Black Knights received scoring contributions from five different players in the Manhattan game, as Army found the back of the net six times during the second half.

• Sophomore Amy Johnston netted four goals against Manhattan and collected a Patriot League Honorable Mention nod for the week.
• Freshman Nikki Polhamus found the back of the net twice, while sophomore Rachel Hornick and freshmen Manuela Cortes and Rachel Treweeke all scored once.
• Freshman Kayla Rowley stopped seven shots in net, with five coming in the second half.
• The Black Knights were selected ninth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE (0-0, 0-0 NORTHEAST) NOTES
• Central Connecticut State opens its 2016 campaign today after coming off a 6-10 finish in 2015.
• The Blue Devils return senior Madison Hughes, who led the team with 24 goals last season.
• Central Connecticut State also brings back its top five point scorers from a year ago, including Hughes (30 points), senior Falynn McCartney (28), juniors Alexandra Hooker (28) and Marissa Soto (20) and sophomore Kylie Sullivan (17).
• The Blue Devils were picked for a sixth-place finish in the Northeast Conference.
