LAST TIME OUT
Army posted a 2-1 record over the last weekend of action with 7-0 wins against St. Bonaventure and Vassar and a 6-1 loss to Massachusetts.
Sophomore Bridget Guenard won all three of her singles matches to extend her current winning streak to four straight. She is 5-1 in the spring.
Freshman Kirby Einck went 3-0 in doubles over the weekend and 2-1 in singles. The Geneva, Ill. native is now 3-0 with two different partners, senior Carolyn Pitman and junior Nancy Porter.
SCOUTING FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON
The Knights are competing for the first time in the spring as their match against Albany two weeks ago was cancelled. They posted a 2-15 record last year and lost in the NEC semifinals in Fairleigh Dickinson's attempt for a third straight conference title.
SCOUTING HARTFORD
Hartford lost its lone match of the year thus far, a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Colgate. The Hawks went 4-2 in the fall season and posted a 3-11 record last spring.
SCOUTING RUTGERS
The Scarlet Knights have split their first four matches of the season but their two losses came against strong Ivy League opponents in the likes of Penn and Princeton. Rutgers had one singles player (Gina Li) and two doubles pairs (Li/Mariam Zein and Chloe Lee/Ksenija Tihomirova) advance to the round of 16 in the fall ITA Northeast Regionals. Last spring, the Scarlet Knights went 6-14 overall and 0-11 in B1G play.
SERIES HISTORY
The Black Knights met with Fairleigh Dickinson and Rutgers last spring, edging the Knights 4-3 and falling to the Scarlet Knights 6-1. Lifetime, the Cadets are 11-3 against Fairleigh Dickinson and 5-19 versus Rutgers.
Army and Hartford have met just one other time, a 1987 fall meeting that saw the Hawks come out with a 5-2 win.
NEXT UP: Friday, February 26 vs. Marist – 3 p.m.
The Black Knights host Marist next Friday, Feb. 26, before playing Fordham and NJIT in a doubleheader the next day. The Red Foxes make the short trip over from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., in the 19th meeting between the two. Army has won every match to date.
