Wrestling Saddles Up for No. 4 Oklahoma State

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point wrestling team travels down to Stillwater, Okla., to face its toughest opponent of the season in the fourth-ranked Cowboys of Oklahoma State on Friday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m. ET from Gallagher-Iba Arena.

STORYLINES
After an off week, the Black Knights return to the mat following their first-place finish at the All-Academy Championships. This is the team's ninth dual meet of the season and the fourth time facing off against a ranked opponent. Previously, Army has wrestled No. 12 N.C. State, No. 20 Oklahoma, and No. 18 North Carolina.
This is the Black Knights' final non-conference dual and the second-to-last competition of the regular season. The team's final dual comes next weekend when they travel to Annapolis, Md., to face service academy rival Navy before the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships hosted by Princeton on the first weekend of March.
Army's head coach Kevin Ward and assistant coach Chris Chionuma make their return to Stillwater to oppose their alma mater for the first time. Ward graduated in 2005 while Chionuma was a member of the 2012 class.
THE ARMY-OKLAHOMA STATE SERIES
The Black Knights and Cowboys are meeting for just the third time since the first meeting in 2006. OSU has won both meetings with the series-opener happening in Stillwater and the last meeting occurring a year later. In both meetings, the Cowboys were ranked in the top-five. They were the top-ranked team in 2006 and fourth in 2007.

- The Black Knights are coming off their first All-Academy Championships win since 2007, behind individual championships from Logan Everett (141), Andrew Mendel (165), Brian Harvey (174) and Bryce Barnes (197).
- Army has had four of its wrestlers ranked throughout the season in Everett (highest spot: 20th by FloWrestling), Russell Parsons Jr. at 157 pounds (highest spot: 13th by InterMat), Harvey (highest spot: 18th by InterMat and FloWrestling) and Barnes (highest spot: 14th by The OpenMat).
- Harvey is the only Black Knight who is currently ranked at 18th by InterMat and FloWrestling. He is tied for first on the team in dual wins (6) and falls (4), second in wins (19) and tied for that spot in bonus point wins (10) as the active career wins leader with a record of 87-48.
- Parsons Jr. leads the team in wins (22) and bonus point wins (11), while tying for the team lead in dual wins (6) and technical falls(4). Â
#4 Oklahoma State (10-2, 6-0 Big 12) NOTES
- Come into meet against Army with an eight-meet win streak, including their previous two wins coming over seventh-ranked Oklahoma and 15th-ranked Cornell.
- The Cowboys' two losses this season have come against ranked opponents (at No. 4 Iowa, vs. No. 13 N.C. State).
- Season-opening dual at Iowa was the first outdoor dual held in a football stadium, known as the Grapple on the Gridiron, which had an NCAA-record attendance of 42,287.
- Senior Alex Dieringer is currently on a 70-match winning streak and is the two-time reigning NCAA champion at 165 pounds. He leads OSU in dual wins (12) and bonus point wins (18).
- Nine Cowboys are ranked in at least one poll, including top-ranked wrestlers Dieringer (165) and Dean Heil (141).
