Army Set for Star Match Against Navy
December 02, 2016 | Men's Swimming and Diving
WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team returns to Crandall Pool with a home Star Meet against Navy on Saturday at 12 p.m. The diving portion of the meet will begin at 10:30 a.m.
COACHES CORNER
"We've got to do the things that we can control really well," said head coach Mickey Wender. "It's a process and the team understands what their jobs are. The team is strong and I think we have as good a chance as we've had in the last 26 years to beat Navy."
"I think we match up really well because our team understands their roles and what they need to do. We need to keep it simple and do our jobs. It'll be an incredible atmosphere and it's a wonderful thing to be apart of."
LAST TIME OUT
The Black Knights are coming off of a first-place finish at the Terrier Invite hosted by Boston University, where they recorded 1,137 points.
Tom Ottman set a pool record in his first place finish in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 15:22.66. Ottman bested the next closest finisher by over 17 seconds en route to victory.
