Army Heads to the Patriot League Tournament

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After capping the regular season with a 20-10 overall record and a 12-4 mark in the Patriot League, the Army West Point volleyball team enters the post-season this weekend at the Patriot League Tournament. The No. 3 Cadets face No. 2 Colgate at 4:05 p.m. on Friday evening.

The winner of the match will take on the victor from No. 1 American vs. No. 4 Navy on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. All games are being played at host American down in Washington, D.C. Â

DETAILS
- The Black Knights have made an appearance in the Patriot Tournament every year since claiming the title back in 2009 under Alma Kovaci Lee.
- Earlier this week, the league released All-League awards with Carolyn Bockrath being named to the first team and Olivia Fairfield, Allie Strong and Vanessa Wesley receiving second team honors.
- Megan Bryn was also recognized by the Patriot League this week after receiving All-Academic accolades.
- The Black Knights are currently on a four-match winning streak and clinched the tournament bid with a 3-1 win over Lehigh and 3-0 sweep over Bucknell last weekend.
SCOUTING COLGATE
- The Raiders clinched the second seed in the tournament with a 17-10, 13-3 record.
- Colgate also had three student-athletes with All-League honors. Kathleen Harris was placed on the first team, while teammates Katie Stebbins and Jaelah Hutchinson were on the second team.
- Harris was also named to the All-Academic team for the Raiders.
- Colgate closed out the season with two wins over Loyola and Lafayette.
- Army and Colgate split on their meetings this season with the Black Knights taking the first match 3-1 and the Raiders sweeping in the second.
