WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's basketball team looks to improve to 2-0 on the young season when it heads north to face UAlbany to close out its two-game season-opening road trip on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m.

Army and UAlbany are set to square off for the second season in a row after meeting for the first time since 2009-10 last season.

The Black Knights featured a different look in the season opener at LIU Brooklyn, following the graduation of four of the team's five starters from 2015-16. Junior Lena' Hicks and sophomores Madison Hovren and Jess Lewis all made their first starts, with Hovren and Lewis scoring career highs of 22 points and 12 points, respectively.

Eleventh-year head coach Dave Magarity enters the UAlbany game just one win shy of reaching 200 victories as Army's coach, with a record of 199-108.

Army leads UAlbany, 6-4, in a series between the in-state rivals that dates back to the 1999-2000 season. The Black Knights earned a 65-62 victory over the Great Danes in last season's matchup at West Point. Hovren and junior Janae McNeal each scored 10 points in the win.

ARMY (1-0, 0-0 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Army opened its season with a 68-47 defeat of LIU Brooklyn on the road.
• Hovren registered career highs of 22 points and 5 steals, while leading all players in both categories.
• Lewis also finished with a career high, after scoring 12 points.
• The Black Knights forced 32 turnovers and came away with 20 steals in the victory to mark the most steals by an Army team since recording 22 against the Merchant Marine Academy on Nov. 30, 2006.

• UAlbany fell to a 70-46 defeat at #19/19 Kentucky on Nov. 12 before suffering a 77-53 setback against #14/20 Miami on Nov. 13.
• Both games were part of the Kentucky Classic in Lexington, Ky.
• Imani Tate led the Great Danes in scoring in both contests, with 9 points against Kentucky and 23 versus Miami.
• The 2016-17 season in UAlbany's first under head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee, following the departure of Katie Abrahamson-Henderson, who took the head job at Central Florida during the offseason.
