ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point volleyball team fell to Navy, 3-0, Friday Night. The Black Knights still lead in the all-time series record against Navy as it moves to 45-13. The Mids now hold a 3-1 advantage in the Star Series presented by USAA.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND MATCH NOTES

The Black Knights fell to 11-8 on the season and 3-2 in the Patriot League with tonight's loss.
Carolyn Bockrath led Army's offense with a .429 hitting percentage off 10 kills.
Vanessa Wesley tallied eight for a .333 hitting percentage, as Olivia Fairfield (5), Allie Strong (5) and Amber Clay (4) also chipped in offensively. Clay led the team in digs with 12.
Haven Bethune dished out 18 assists in the loss and had help from Avery Alexander who tallied 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Navy's defense was all over the court opposite the Cadets and did not allow Army to crack 20 points in any of the three sets.
There were only four lead changes in the entire match with eight tie scores.
The Black Knights fell 25-19, 25-17 and 25-16 to the Mids.
In the third set, Army took a 14-10 lead over Navy, but a 10-0 run by the Mids helped them capture a 20-14 lead in the final set. The Black Knights would score two more points to Navy's five which gave them the victory.

UP NEXT

Lafayette will host Holy Cross Friday night before facing the Cadets. The Leopards are 3-11 this season and have claimed a solo victory in league play, a 3-2 win over Loyola.
Julia Howard (5.73) and Maria Balus (5.06) split time in the setters spot for Lafayette and rank eighth and ninth in the league for assists per set.
Sonia Musso leads the team with 0.33 service aces per set, while Katie Rethmeyer and Katherine Stevens average 1.20 kills per set.
