Baltimore, Md. – The Army West Point volleyball team blanked Loyola 3-0 Friday night in Baltimore, Md. The Black Knights improved to 16-9 overall and 8-3 in the Patriot League with tonight's victory.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND MATCH NOTES
- Carolyn Bockrath led the Black Knights with 13 kills and a .600 hitting percentage. Allie Strong also contributed offensively with nine kills, while Amber Clay notched six and Vanessa Wesley had four.
- Haven Bethune recorded 22 assists in the sweep and Nikki Lum added 13.
- Olivia Fairfield led the team with three total blocks as Strong had a team-high three service aces as Clay and Lum each had two.
- Shannel Chong notched 18 digs in the match and Clay pitched in with eight of her own.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cadets claimed a 16-15 lead over the Greyhounds in the first set, but Loyola battled back to take a 20-19 lead. Lum tallied a kill before the Greyhounds committed an error to give Army back the lead. Points from Fairfield and Strong along with two errors by Loyola pushed the Black Knights ahead 25-23 to take the first set.
- In set two, the Black Knights went on a three point run to take a 14-6 lead. The Greyhounds scored five-straight points in the set to trail by just four (21-17), but Army would score the next four to clinch the set and take a 2-0 lead in the match. Strong and Lum connected to push the Cadets to set point then Clay finished things off with a service ace.
- Army had control for the entirety of the third set and claimed a 20-12. The Black Knights notched four of the final six points with Rachel Gearon and Sydney Morriss earning one kill apiece.
UP NEXT
- Army is back in action tomorrow evening with a 4 p.m. matchup against top-ranked American.
SCOUTING AMERICAN
- The Eagles boast an impressive 21-6 mark and are 11-0 in the Patriot League after sweeping Navy on Tuesday.
- American is riding a 12-match winning streak and have only given up one set since Sept. 17. The team has now won 27-straight Patriot League matches.
- Vela McBride leads the league with a .362 hitting percentage, while Kennedy Etheridge ranks first in assists per set (9.96) and Shannon Webb leads in service aces per set (0.39).
