WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's basketball team is back on the road on Wednesday night when it takes on Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. Opening tip is 7 p.m. ET and the contest will be broadcast online on the Patriot League Network.

STORYLINES
Last time out, Army used a 20-2 run midway through the second half en route to a 65-45 win over American on Sunday afternoon. The Black Knights limited American to a season low in scoring for an opponent and outrebounded the Eagles 42-27. Kyle Wilson, Dylan Cox and Larry Toomey each scored in double figures with Toomey leading the way with 13 points. Wilson and Cox each scored 12 as Army connected on 40 percent of its attempts (22-for-55). The Black Knights were solid at the line as well, going 15-for-19. Cox hauled in a game-high nine rebounds.
After winning two of its first three Patriot League contests, Holy Cross has lost three straight games by double-digit margins. The Crusaders dropped an 87-66 decision at home on Saturday against Lehigh after losing to Lafayette and Bucknell away from the Hart Center. Matt Husek scored a team-high 23 points in the loss to the Mountain Hawks.
Army has made at least 10 three-pointers in 12 games and is averaging 10.1 three-point field goals per contest this season, which is 13th in the country. Kyle Wilson is eighth in the nation in threes per game with 3.61 per game. As a team, Army is shooting 37.3 percent from three-point range (182-of-488). 37.3 percent of Army's points have come via the three-pointer, a number that ranks 67th in the NCAA (KenPom.com).
The Black Knights have the 13th-ranked offensive tempo in the country according to Ken Pomeroy. Army's offense has an adjusted tempo of 74.6, which is an estimate of the possessions per 40 minutes a team would have against the average D-I tempo. Army's average offensive possession length is 14.6 seconds, which is ninth in the nation.
The Black Knights lead the conference in assists per game (17.7) and are 17th nationally in that category. Army's assist-to-turnover ratio (1.25) also leads the conference. In 2015-16, Army is outrebounding its opponents by an average of 4.9 boards per game. The last time an Army team had a rebounding margin of better than five per game was in 1970 (+5.3).
Army has the top scoring offense in the Patriot League and is 28th in the nation with 81.9 points per game. In addition, the Black Knights lead the conference in scoring margin (+7.0). Army is unbeaten (5-0) when four or more players score in double figures.
Playing without leading scorer Tanner Plomb the last two games, Army's offensive numbers have dipped. The Black Knights are shooting 15-for-44 (34.0 percent) from distance and are also averaging 65.5 points per game.
With his 12-point effort against American, Wilson moved past Navy's Greg Sprink into seventh on the Patriot League's all-time scoring list with 1,794 career points. Wilson also passed Chris Spatola '02 on Army's career three-point field goals list with 239 total threes.
Army and Navy are tied for second in the nation with seven road wins, trailing only the eight for Monmouth. Little Rock, Southern Illinois and IPFW match the Mids and Black Knights with seven road victories.
