Men's Tennis Finishes Strong at Rice Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's tennis team concluded its weekend in the Lone Star State with a strong showing at the Rice Invitational on Sunday.
Going up against some strong nationally-ranked teams, the Black Knights went deep into the tournament in multiple flights.
"Everyone played some high quality matches," said head coach Jim Poling. "We see what level we can play at, and this tournament is going to give us a huge confidence boost for the rest of the season."
Cow Kyle Barnes got to the finals of the "C" flight, while plebe David Mitchell got to the semifinals. Mitchell also reached the finals of the finals of the "B" flight in doubles with firstie Caison Best.
Firstie Sam Lampman and cow Grant Reichmann won 3 out of 4 of their doubles matches, winning the backflight for the "B" flight.
Firstie Austin Mccasin had a couple of good wins, making it to the semifinals of the "D" flight in singles.
Army returns to action next weekend when they travel to Annapolis, Md. For the Navy Invitational Sept. 25-27.
