Army Ends Florida Swing

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Army scored runs in the seventh and eighth inning and closed its spring trip to Florida with a 6-5 victory over Harvard, Saturday at Jack Russell Stadium.
Army improved to 10-8 overall and concluded its swing to Florida with a 4-4 mark.
Army rallied tie the game in the seventh and pushed across the winning run in the eighth to win the final game of a four-game series with Harvard.
Stu Schley recorded two hits and knocked in the winning run, while Brandon Lee had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Kris Lindner tripled and singled and scored a run, while Jacob Page doubled and scored.
Julian Larimer started on the mound for Army and threw six innings. He allowed four runs, struck out five and did not walk a hitter. Johnny Griffith threw the final three innings to earn the win, his first of the season.
Army had a runner on in the second when Mark McCants singled and took second on a sacrifice bunt. Two grounds out though ended the inning.
Harvard scored the game's first run in the top of the third. With one out, DJ Link and Steve Dill singled. An error moved Link to third and crossed home on a sacrifice fly.
Army knotted the game in the fifth. Schley struck out but hustled to first on the wild pitch. He moved to second on an Alex Dickerson sacrifice and scored on Lindner's triple.
Harvard put together five hits in the sixth inning and scored three times to take a 4-1 lead. Mike Martin hit an RBI double while Jack McGuigan and Matt Rothenberg plated runs.
Army tied the game in the seventh. Alex Jensen was hit by a pitch and Schley walked. A sacrifice bunt advanced the runners before Lee singled to score a run. Lindner hustled out an infield single to load the bases. A ground out led to the second out of the inning at the plate. Jon Rosoff then doubled to score two runs and tie the game at 4.
The Black Knights took their first lead in the eighth. Page led off the inning with a double, moved to third on Jensen `s sacrifice and scored on Schley's single. Dickerson beat out an infield single and Lee grounded out to score Schley ane vengive Army a 6-4 lead.
Harvard made one last push in the ninth, taking advantage of a pair of errors before a run-scoring double from Link make it 6-5.
Army will host Columbia, Wednesday at Johnston Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
GAME NOTES: Army wore its white pinstripe uniforms ... The Black Knights will fly out of Tampa Saturday evening ... Army center field Jacob Page hauled in seven flyballs, including all three in the second inning ... Kris Lindner was injured in the eighth inning diving for a foul ball and left the game.
