WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's basketball tries to ride the momentum from a win over Monmouth when it opens Patriot League play on Wednesday night at Lehigh. Opening tip is 7 p.m. ET and the contest will be broadcast online on the Patriot League Network.

STORYLINES
The Black Knights are coming off a 91-84 win over the Hawks and Lehigh enters Patriot League play at 2-9 following a loss to Stony Brook. The preseason Patriot League favorites are 2-2 at Stabler Arena this year and took both contests from Army last season.
Army has made at least 10 three-pointers in 10 of 12 games and is averaging 10.9 three-point field goals per contest this season, which is sixth in the country. Kyle Wilson is second in the nation in threes per game with 3.92. As a team, Army is shooting 38.3 percent from three-point range (31-of-342), which ranks 54th in the country. 38.4 percent of Army's points have come via the three-point field goal, a number that ranks 54th in the nation (KenPom.com).
The Black Knights have the seventh-ranked offensive tempo in the country according to Ken Pomeroy. Army's offense has an adjusted tempo of 76.6, which is an estimate of the possessions per 40 minutes a team would have against the average D-I tempo. Army's average offensive possession length is 14.4 seconds, which is 11th in the nation.
Army has the top scoring offense in the Patriot League and is 11th in the nation with 86.2 points per game. In addition, the Black Knights lead the conference in scoring margin (+9.2).
After consecutive 13-rebound performances, senior center Kevin Ferguson is leading the Patriot League in rebounding with 8.7 rebounds per game. Ferguson is 23rd in the country in offensive rebounds with a Patriot League-leading 3.8 per contest.
Senior Tanner Plomb has scored in double figures in every game this season and 22 straight games overall. He has 10 performances of at least 20 points during the streak, including a career-high 31-point effort in the win over Gardner-Webb.
Plomb became the 30th player in Academy history to score 1,000 career points with his 18-point effort at Air Force. He now has 1,065 career points and 27th in school history in scoring. Plomb and classmate Kyle Wilson (1,678 career points) are the third teammates from the same graduating class to reach the 1,000-point mark, joining 1981 graduates Bob Brown (1,282) and Marty Coyne (1,126) and 1990 graduates Todd Mattson (1,122) and Steve Rothert (1,054).
Together, Wilson and Plomb were the top scoring duo in the Patriot League last year with an average of 33.3 points per game. Wilson was first in scoring in the conference at 17.5 points per game, while Plomb ranked fourth overall with a 15.8 points per game average. Plomb (21.8) and Wilson (18.2) are the top two scorers in the Patriot League in 2015-16. Wilson (47) and Plomb (42) have combined for 89 made three-pointers, which is second in the country to North Florida's duo of Trent Mackey (55) and Beau Beech (47), who have connected on 102 three-point field goals.
Senior point guard Dylan Cox is among the nation's leaders in assists per game. Cox leads the Patriot League and is 19th in the country with an average of 6.2 assists per night. Cox is third in Academy history with 394 career assists. As a team, Army is 13th in the nation in assists per game with 18.8.
