Men's Basketball Takes National Stage at Tennessee

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's basketball team looks to rebound from its loss at George Washington with a victory on Tuesday night against the Tennessee Volunteers. Opening tip from Thompson-Boling Arena is slated for 7:01 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network and WatchESPN.com.

STORYLINES
Army opened its 2015-16 season with a 39-point victory over Ferrum College. The Black Knights then went on the road and secured wins over Binghamton (75-60) and Fairleigh Dickinson (96-85), before falling to George Washington by 11 points.
Seniors Tanner Plomb and Kyle Wilson have each scored in double figures in the first four games of the season. Wilson set a new career standard with 36 points on eight three pointers in the win over FDU and Plomb enters Tuesday's game riding consecutive double-double performances.
Wilson passed Chris Spatola '02 on Army's all-time scoring list and is now sixth in Academy history with 1,564 career points. He is 21 points shy of Ella Ellis '13, who is fifth on the all-time scoring list with 1,585 career points.
Together, Wilson and Plomb were the top scoring duo in the Patriot League in 2014-15 with an average of 33.3 points per game. Wilson was first in scoring in the conference at 17.5 points per game, while Plomb ranked fourth overall with a 15.8 points per game average. Wilson and Plomb are each averaging 20.8 points per night through the first four games, good for the most in the league by a pair of teammates (41.6).
Army's senior class is accounting for 77.3 percent of its scoring and 66.4 percent of its rebounding through the first four games of the season.
Kevin Ferguson's 64.5 percent career field-goal percentage (303-of-470) is second among active NCAA Division I players. Belmont's Evan Bradds leads the list with a 67.7 career-field goal percentage.
Army returned 91.6 percent of its scoring and 92.9 percent of its rebounding from last season, including seven seniors, which is tied for the most in program history. Army returned 140 of a possible 150 starts from the 2014-15 season with Dylan Cox, Kyle Wilson, Larry Toomey, Tanner Plomb and Kevin Ferguson returning for their senior season.
With the wins over Ferrum and Binghamton, the Black Knights held consecutive opponents to 60 points or less for the first time since the 2013-14 season against Coast Guard and Lafayette.
In a vote of the league's head coaches and sports information directors, Army was chosen fourth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. The Black Knights have never finished higher than fourth in the final Patriot League standings.
