Women’s Soccer Travels to Loyola Maryland

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's soccer team plays a pivotal Patriot League contest on Saturday night when it takes on Loyola Maryland at Ridley Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the match can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.
The Black Knights are currently tied with Bucknell for second in the Patriot League standings with eight points and four matches remaining. Boston University leads the conference with 13 points, while Navy, Loyola and Colgate are all one point back of Army with seven points. The top six teams qualify for the Patriot League Tournament and the top two receive byes into the semifinal round.
Overall, Army is 4-8-2 with a 2-1-2 conference record after playing American to a 1-1 draw this past Saturday at Clinton Field. Senior Candace Stewart netted her first goal of the season to tie the score in the 80th minute in a match that was statistically dominated by the Black Knights. Army outshot American 27-5 and held a 14-1 edge in corner kicks.
Senior Katie Holder leads Army in scoring with 14 points on five goals and four assists. Holder has three game-winning goals to her name and has scored four of her goals against Patriot League opponents. Sophomore Clare Shea has scored twice and registered three assists for seven points, including two goals and an assist in her last three conference matches. In goal, Jordan Cassalia has started 13 games and owns a 1.61 goals-against average.
Loyola enters Saturday's tilt following a 2-1 loss to Lehigh and a 4-1 setback to Boston University. Both of those games were on the road, however, and Loyola has two wins in two home Patriot League games against Lafayette and American.
Individually, senior Rosy Hayes leads the Greyhounds with six goals, two assists and 14 points. She is tied for fourth among Patriot League competitors in points and goals. Classmate Charlotte Miller is second on the team with seven points, with three goals in Patriot League play. In goal, graduate student Colleen Folan has played a total of 1025:28 minutes and has a 1.76 goals-against average and .688 save percentage. She has allowed 20 goals and stopped 44 shots.
