WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army women’s swim and dive team defeated Lehigh Friday evening, 122-109, at Jacobs Pool in Bethlehem, Pa. The Black Knights claimed first-place in six events.
“Tonight was a good start to the weekend,” said head coach Mickey Wender. “I thought we raced hard, especially the back half of the meet. We came together as a team and were a lot more aggressive, focused and inspired towards the end of the meet. It was a good win against a very well coached Lehigh team. Their sprinters were phenomenal tonight making us rely heavily on our divers and the points they were able to accumulate for us.”
The Black Knights pegged a second-place start in the 400 medley relay to begin the meet. Kelly Hamilton, Collin Kessinger, Molly Mucciarone and Keeli McNeary comprised the team that touched the wall in 3:57.75. Sabrina Mortell clocked a 10:26.50 in the 1000 free for first place followed by Ana Marie Bistrow who came in third.
In the 400 IM, Jessica Burkett claimed the top spot with a time of 4:29.90. Kate Kinley finished third in the same event after clocking a 4:39.81, respectively. Hamilton won the 200 back after touching the wall in 2:06.54.

The 200 breast proved to be an even closer race. Burkett (2:24.84) managed to edge Kessinger 2:25.85) by 0:00.01 to win the top spot.
