Jonathon Graupmann joined the track & field staff at Army West Point in August 2024.
Coach Graupmann previously coached 20 All-American performances at Fort Hays State, including nine from Mattie Rossi, six from Nolan Churchman, three from Taylor Savolt, one from Jack Pakkebier and one from Matthew Pieper. His student-athletes have achieved 66 NCAA Division II qualifying marks during his tenure in addition to 17 individual All-MIAA awards, 12 All-MIAA awards on relay teams and four individual MIAA champions (Philip Landrum - 2019 indoor 60m, Matthew Pieper - 2021 indoor heptathlon, Nolan Churchman - 2023 indoor heptathlon & outdoor decathlon). His athletes have earned 11 USTFCCCA All-Academic awards.
Coach Graupmann previously spent five seasons at Central College (IA), highlighted by Abi Davis earning eight All-American performances and being named the conference MVP three times, Spencer Hammack being a member of the national champion Distance Medley Relay, and three All-American women's relays. Coach Graupmann's athletes won 25 individual Iowa Conference championships and 90 All-Iowa Conference awards in horizontal jumps and sprinting events.
Prior to Central College, Coach Graupmann spent the 2013 season at Texas Lutheran University as an assistant women's track and field coach. He coached for two seasons at Tiffin University and also spent time on the coaching staff of Marietta College in Ohio (2009-11) where Ryan Householder earned three All-American honors and was named a conference MVP in 2011, and was a member of the All-American 4x100m relay. Coach Graupmann, after graduating from college served as assistant track and field and cross country coach at Dixie Heights (Ky.) High School.
Graupmann has had three athletes receive CoSIDA Academic All-American honors. Kate Patton in 2018, Mattie Rossi in 2023, and Taylor Savolt in 2024. Spencer Hammack received an NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship in 2015.
