Jeret Johnson

Jeret Johnson was named assistant coach of the Army West Point men's tennis team for the 2019-2020 season.
He previously was volunteer assistant coach for Army West Point women’s tennis for the second time during the spring 2019 season. Prior to West Point, Johnson was the USTA Zonal's Coach for Missouri Valley during summer 2018. From fall 2017 to fall 2018, he also served as the high performance tennis coach at KickingBird Tennis Club.
During that same time, he was also assistant coach at the University of Central Oklahoma. The Bronchos saw one of their best seasons in school history during the 2017-18 year, going 20-4 (most wins in school history), and also reaching a national rank of No. 6 -- the highest in school history.
From 2015-2017, Johnson had his first stint as volunteer assistant for the Army West Point women's tennis team. Army went 41-13 in the two seasons, with two Star Series wins over rival Navy.
He spent two seasons playing at Barton Community College from 2012 to 2014. During his final year, he helped the Cougars achieve their highest national finish in five years by placing 12th. Johnson was Barton’s No. 3 singles player and reached the semifinals of the consolation bracket as the final Cougars singles player standing.
Johnson then attended Fort Hays State University and served as a student assistant women’s tennis coach. He helped to guide the Tigers to an 11-11 record in dual meets last season.
Johnson was born in Larned, Kan. He is the son of Jeanette and Jerry Johnson and has two sisters, Jacque and Jessi. Johnson majored in Health and Human Performance and has also worked at Nike tennis camps in Lawrenceville, N.J., as well as West Point tennis camps over the last two summers. He is currently the assistant teaching tennis pro at Highlands Country Club in Garrison, N.Y.
