Army West Point Women’s Tennis’ Ari Roberts was promoted to Assistant Coach ahead of the 2024-25 season.
In 2025-26, his second year as assistant coach with the program, the squad went 22-8 overall, with a 6-2 record in Patriot League play, reaching the Patriot League Championships semifinals in Lewisburg, Pa.
In the fall 2025 campaign, doubles pair Madison Smith and Isabella Brilliant won the Patriot League ITA Masters Qualifier doubles championship, earning the duo a trip to San Diego to compete in the ITA Conference Masters Championships. There, Smith and Brilliant won their Round of 32 matchup before taking the Round of 16 matchup to a super tiebreaker against a top-seeded doubled team from Virginia.
Roberts also helped guide Army to its first UTR Sports NIT Championships berth after the 2025-26 regular season. He was also named a finalist for the Coach K Award in the Corps Squad Athletics Coach category in 2025-26.
In Roberts’ first year as assistant coach, Army finished the 2024-25 season at 24-6 overall and a perfect 8-0 mark in Patriot League regular season matches, claiming the No. 1 seed at the Patriot League Championships. The Black Knights defeated Navy 4-1 in the star match April 5, ending a three-match skid in star competitions vs. the Mids.
He was part of a staff led by Patriot League Coach of the Year Paul Peck, and a program with four players named to the Second Team All-League.
Roberts also serves as the President of USTA Eastern’s Board of Directors, serving in that role for 2025 and 2026.
Roberts remains with the program in which he has previously served as Volunteer Assistant Coach since 2021-22. Until the 2024-25 season, Roberts also served as Men’s Tennis Volunteer Assistant Coach.
Roberts is the Founder and President of MatchPoint Tennis in Goshen, N.Y., which he established in 2002. In 2010, MatchPoint Tennis opened in the Goshen Sports Complex, with four indoor courts, three outdoor courts and four indoor pickleball courts. MatchPoint currently has 200 juniors in its weekly programming. Roberts is a USTA National Coach, being the head coach of both Junior World Team Tennis and the U-14 Zonal team for USTA Eastern.

Roberts is the Traveling Coach with three players from the Junior Program at MatchPoint Tennis. They have Collected four National Balls.
Roberts a 2001 Graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Business Management and minors in Legal Studies and Finance. Roberts finished in 3rd Place on the All-Time Tennis Wins List for Ithaca College, and set the record for most wins in a single season.
