John Banarhall enters his third year coaching the Army West Point men’s rugby program. Banarhall serves as the Head Coach of the Developmental Squad and Recruiting Coordinator.
In addition, he coaches the U-16’s for USA-Rugby and Eagle Impact Rugby Academy. He is currently the U-16 Head Coach.
Banarhall has coached at various levels during his coaching career, including the USA U-19 National Team from 2003-07, the Amoskeag Rugby Club Senior men, Division I from 2005-11 and the Amoskeag Rugby Club U-19 Squad from 1998-present.
Banarhall’s professional career extends beyond his passion for rugby. Currently he is a 21-year Captain with Southwest Airlines, based out of Baltimore, Md.
Banarhall contributes his rugby passion and success to his wonderful wife Peggy Banarhall whom he has been married to for 27 years. His son, Jacob, served as the vice-captain of the Army West Point squad for the 2015-16 season as a senior. The family resides in Auburn, N.H.
