Luis Nevarez Jr. begins his first season on the Army West Point football staff as the assistant director of player personnel.

Nevarez spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Southern California prior to coming to West Point. He worked operations and defense during the 2013 seasons, where he assisted the director of football operations, helped out with recruiting and compiled weekly analysis on the upcoming opponent for the defense. He moved to the offensive side and special teams in 2014. Nevarez constructed scouting reports and installed a weekly game plan for special teams.

He stepped out of coaching in 2015 and worked for CBRE Real Estate in Los Angeles and assisted the Director of Real Estate Services for the City of Los Angeles.

Nevarez, a 2013 graduate of USC, was a two-time letterwinner in the secondary for the Trojans and earned his bachelor's degree in communications and got his master's in communication management in the spring of 2015.
