Track and Field Earns Four Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point earned four weekly Patriot League Track and Field honors after strong performances at the West Point Twilight, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
On the women's side, Sabrina Sardar was named the Track Athlete of the Week and Zoe Whaley was named Field Athlete of the Week. For the men, Zane Hicke earned Field Athlete of the Week and Van Carter was named Rooke of the Week.
This is the first Track Athlete of the Week honor for Sardar, a freshman from Hillsborough, N.J. Sardar won the 400m hurdles with a strong time of 1:01.68, which is the fourth-fastest time in the conference this season.
This is also the first weekly outdoor honor for Whaley this year, who came in second in the high jump at 1.69m. Her mark is No. 3 in the Patriot League.
For Hicke, a native of Dallas, this is his first weekly honor this outdoor campaign. The junior finished first in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 2.07m, which is also tied for first in the Patriot League.
This is also Carter's first weekly Patriot League honor. The Niceville, Fla., native won the pole vault with an impressive mark of 5.00m, which is eight in the conference.
Army will be back in action on Friday and Saturday in the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Annapolis, Md. Coverage will be provided on ESPN+ on both days.
