Football Adds H.T. Kinney and Luke Ebbesmeyer to Coaching Staff

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point head football coach Jeff Monken has announced the additions of H.T. Kinney and Luke Ebbesmeyer to the Black Knights' coaching staff. Kinney will serve as Senior Offensive Analyst, while Ebbesmeyer joins as Football Strategy and Analytics Coordinator.
Kinney brings more than 30 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, with a proven track record in offensive strategy and quarterback development. His career includes stops at Peru State College, Nicholls State University, Missouri Southern State University, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Liberty University, Hofstra University, Wagner College, and Monmouth College.
Most recently, Kinney served as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks/Running Backs Coach at Peru State College in 2022. He worked as an offensive analyst at Nicholls State in 2020 and 2021. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles including interim head coach, assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, and recruiting coordinator. He has extensive experience working with quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends, and offensive lines, while also contributing in key recruiting and game-planning roles. His international coaching experience includes a head coaching stint with the Tolentino Orange Blades in Italy.
Kinney earned a Master of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in Special Education from Wagner College in 1993 and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1988.
Ebbesmeyer arrives at West Point after spending last season as the tight ends coach at the University of St. Thomas.
Prior to that, he served as an offensive analyst at Florida International University, working with quarterbacks and tight ends. During the 2024 season, he helped quarterback Keyone Jenkins throw for the second-most touchdown passes in program history, while also assisting with film breakdown and scout team defense.
Ebbesmeyer also spent time at the University of Memphis, serving as a Defensive Quality Control specialist in 2020 and a defensive graduate assistant in 2021. He previously worked at The First Academy in Orlando, Florida, as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach.
A former Division I student-athlete, Ebbesmeyer was a long snapper at both Auburn University and UCF. He was a member of Auburn's 2013 SEC Championship team and later helped UCF to a conference championship and a Peach Bowl appearance. He graduated from UCF in 2017.
