WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point slotback Noah Short has agreed to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent, following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Short leaves West Point as one of the most versatile offensive weapons in program history. He is the first player in Army history to log career totals of over 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards. He concluded his collegiate career with 1,148 rushing yards (6.5 avg.) and 1,008 receiving yards (15.0 avg.), accounting for 10 total touchdowns.
As a senior in 2025, Short posted 571 yards on the ground and 438 receiving yards. His 32 receptions during the 2025 campaign set a new single-season record for the Jeff Monken era (2014–present). Furthermore, his 67 career receptions are the most by any Army player during Monken's tenure, surpassing the previous mark of 52.
A native of San Jose, Calif., Short's journey at West Point began on the defensive side of the ball. As a freshman in 2022, he cemented his place in Army-Navy Game history by blocking a punt that was recovered in the end zone for a touchdown, a pivotal play that led Army to victory over its rivals. He transitioned to the offensive side of the ball as a sophomore in 2023, quickly becoming a centerpiece of the Black Knights' offensive attack.
With this transaction, Short joins a growing list of Black Knights currently in the NFL, including Andre Carter II (Commanders), Brett Toth (49ers), Cole Christiansen (Chiefs), Jimmy Ciarlo (Bills), and Lucas Scott (Ravens).
