January 07, 2026 | Women's Basketball
BALTIMORE, Md. – Army West Point women's basketball got a career performance from Camryn Tade en route to a gritty, 71-66, road win over Loyola Maryland on Wednesday night at Reitz Arena.
Army (11-3, 2-1) didn't have the best offensive night but played strong defense down the stretch to record back-to-back conference road wins. Loyola Maryland (5-9, 1-2) scored 28 points in the fourth quarter in a late comeback effort but was unable to get over the final hump.
Tade led the way for Army, scoring a career-high 26 points on 8-14 shooting – including three buckets from long range. The junior guard had seven points in the final frame to help ice the victory for the Black Knights. Wednesday marked the second time this season, and in her career, that she has scored 20-plus points.
The Black Knights got off to a blazing hot start, opening the game on a 14-2 run in the first 4:30. Loyola Maryland was forced to burn an early timeout. Army was 6-8 from the field during this stretch.
The Greyhounds settled down on both ends of the court coming out of the media timeout and outscored Army 10-5 to close out the period. The Black Knights finished the quart 8-12 from the field, while the Greyhounds shot 4-15. Taylor Wilson led Army with six points after 10 minutes.
After struggling offensively at the end of the first quarter, Army regained its rhythm in the second quarter. Holding a 21-16 lead with 8:04 left before halftime, the Black Knights erupted on a 14-0 run that spanned 7:53 and gave them a controlling 35-14 lead. Brooke Wilson kicked off the run with a pair of free throws, with Soleil Montrose knocking down a pull up mid-range shot. Tade then scored the next eight points for Army and Reese Ericson capped off the run with a deep three to force a Loyola Maryland timeout.
The 14-0 run was the second largest of the season, trailing just its 17-0 run to knock of St. Thomas back in November.
Army finished the half shooting 43.3 percent from the field, which included five 3-pointers. On the other side of the court, the Greyhounds shot 32.1 percent in the first 20 minutes of action. Tade had 10 of her points before the break.
Coming out of the locker rooms, the two sides trade buckets for the opening five minutes, but Army's lead never fell below 15 before the media timeout. However, the Greyhounds had a strong close to the period and cut Army's lead down to 10 heading into the final quarter of play.
The third frame was the Black Knights worst offensive stretch of the game, as it made just four of its 14 attempts from the field and scored only 13 points. Loyola Maryland seemed to find a shooting groove late in the quarter and knocked down half of its shots (5-10),
Army extended its lead back to 18 – 66-48 – with 3:00 left in regulation and seemed well on its way to another double-digit victory. However, Loyola Maryland wasn't going to go down without a fight, as the Greyhounds turned it on offensively in the final minutes. Loyola Maryland went on a 12-2 run to make it 68-60 with 50 seconds to play.
Tade hit clutch shots from the charity stripe to help secure the win for Army and hold off a late comeback.

Quotable – Head Coach Katie Kuester
"Yeah, I don't care how ugly it is. A win is a win. I mean, we're going to win pretty, we're going to win ugly. I was just really proud of Camryn Tade. I think she had big buckets and big moments. The same with Reese's threes. She had a huge three in front of our bench, just to kind of give us a little bit more cushion. I was really impressed with our start. I thought we started the game off really, really well, which gave us the cushion that we needed down the stretch."
Kuester on Tade's Career Night
"I rely on her so much, just as a person, as a player, as an ambassador of our program. She's just very difficult to guard because she's so strong and relentless. She can shoot the mid-range, she can shoot the three, she can get downhill. She's been working relentlessly to continue to develop all those sides of her game. I am really proud that it could come to fruition in a game like tonight."
