Softball Tabbed as Preseason No. 24 in D1Softball Mid-Major Poll

WEST POINT, N.Y. — For the first time in program history, Army West Point softball is ranked in the D1Softball Mid-Major Poll, receiving the No. 24 spot in the preseason rankings.
This comes after a historic 2025 season, where the Black Knights finished the 2025 season 35-22 overall with a 16-2 conference record. The sixteen conference wins set a program record for the most Patriot League wins in a season.
Army also finished the season as the Patriot League regular season champion, claiming the title outright for the first time since 2010.
Then junior, now senior Ashton White was named Patriot League Player of the Year, while head coach Jen Consaul was named Coach of the Year.
A program record nine Black Knights were also named to a Patriot League All-League Team, with three being named to the First Team (Ashton White, Taylor Brown and Katelyn Flanders) and six being named to the Second Team (Annie Christiana, Sienna Tepley, Caitlyn Newburn, Emma Murchison, Maaika Dones and Breanna Izzo). All players but Maaika Dones returns to Army's roster this season.
The Black Knights finished the Patriot League Championship as the runner-up, earning two wins against the No. 4 seed Bucknell Bison and two losses against the No. 2 seed Boston University.
Army begins its 2026 campaign on February 6, heading to Boca Raton, Florida, to play in the Paradise Classic. The Black Knights will first take on Wisconsin and Indiana on Feb. 6, then will take on Delaware and Ohio State on Feb. 7 before concluding the tournament on Feb. 8, playing Wisconsin for the second time. All five games will air live on FloSports.
