Swimming & Diving Sweeps Greyhounds in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. – Army West Point swimming & diving completed its final dual meet of the regular season on Friday as the Black Knights took down the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds on both the men's and women's sides.
Army claimed wins on both the men's and women's sides with 26 of the total 32 possible first place finishes of the day with an even 13 each for Army's men and women.
Women: Army 199, Loyola Maryland 101
Army's women put on a commanding performance in Baltimore, beginning with the diving events where Hadley Futch earned two first place finishes. The freshman diver scored a 280.35 on the one-meter board and a 275.25 on the three-meter board.
Catriona Gilmore earned a bevy of points for the Black Knights with a trio of first place finishes and a third-place finish. She first helped Army win the women's 200 medley relay (1:41.16) before finishing third in the women's 200 free (1:53.26). From there she swept the breaststroke events with first place finishes in the 100 breast (1:02.17) and the 200 breast (2:17.14), leading Army to a podium sweep in the 200 breast as freshmen Eden Chuang (2:20.70) and April Chun (2:22.58) finished second and third, respectively.
Molly Webber added to Army's tally with two first place finishes and a second-place finish. She first dominated the day's long-distance event with a 16:39.02 in the 1650 free to earn the win by more than 20 seconds before clocking a 23.44 in the 50 free to finish second. Webber rounded out her day in Baltimore with a 2:01.79 in the women's 200 IM to claim first place.
Sophomore Angie McKane added a further trio of top finishes to the Black Knights' score with a first place finish as the leadoff in Army's 200 medley relay, a second place finish in the women's 100 breast (1:02.82) just behind Gilmore, and a first place finish in the women's 100 fly (53.28).
Men: Army 178, Loyola Maryland 122
Army's men delivered impressive results of their own to claim the victory over the Greyhounds. Jack McDaniel and Alex Zhang earned first place on the diving boards as McDaniel earned a 313.35 on the one-meter board and Zhang tallied a 305.63 on the three-meter board. Firstie Lucas Mowry qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships with his score of 303.00 on the one-meter board.
Kohen Rankin put up big points for the Black Knights with three first place finishes as he earned a 1:26.00 in the men's 200 medley relay, a 52.78 in the men's 100 breast, and a 1:57.20 in the men's 200 breast.
Sophomore Johnny Crush added two first place finishes and a second place finish to Army's score as he helped Army win the men's 200 medley relay as the leadoff swimmer, clocked a 45.73 in the men's 100 back to finish first, and earned second place in the men's 50 free on a 20.32 behind teammate Ben Vorthmann who finished first on a 20.26.
Thomas Hadji earned a pair of first-place finishes for the Black Knights with a 1:37.77 in the men's 200 free and a 43.87 in the men's 100 free.

Army returns home to host the Army Invite in early February before heading to the Patriot League Championships over Feb. 18-21st in Annapolis, Md.

Thomas Hadji earned a pair of first-place finishes for the Black Knights with a 1:37.77 in the men's 200 free and a 43.87 in the men's 100 free.
