Swimming & Diving Sweeps Bucknell on Firstie Day

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point swimming & diving celebrated Firstie Day for their Class of 2026 on Saturday with a sweep over Patriot League foe Bucknell at Crandall Pool.
Army kept a hot pace from the first buzzer as the men went 191-109 against the Bison while the women earned a 157-143 victory of their own. The Black Knights totaled 23 first place finishes across the 32 events with 13 for the men and 10 for the women.
Men: Army 191, Bucknell 109
Army's men dominated the meet today, claiming 13 of 16 first place finishes available to them over the course of the meet. Jack McDaniel and Alex Zhang kicked things off with first place finishes on the one-meter board (307.50) and the three-meter board (305.85) respectively.
Firsties Brice Barrieault and Max Jordan picked up a pair of individual first place finishes each with wins for Barrieault in the men's 1000 free (9:25.74) and the men's 200 free (1:39.27) and wins for Jordan in the men's 100 back (48.51) and the men's 100 fly (47.76).
Army showed the depth of its roster as five other Black Knights claimed first place finishes for Army. Kohen Rankin won the men's 100 breast with a 52.11, Johnny Crush won the men's 50 free with a 19.59, Thomas Hadji won the men's 200 back with a 1:48.83, Joey Kling won the men's 200 breast with a 1:58.66, and Kalvin Hahn won the men's 400 IM with a 3:47.10.
The Black Knights capped off the meet in dramatic fashion as two of Army's men's 200 free relay teams earned a tie for the final event of the meet as the quartets of Brice Barrieault, Zac Leith, Thomas Hadji, and Kalvin Hahn and Ben Vorthmann, Max Jordan, Hoey Kling, and Kohen Rankin both clocked a 1:20.55 in the final event of the day.
Women: Army 157, Bucknell 143
Army's women battled from the get-go to claim 10 first place finishes against the Bison.
Marianne Orr won both boards for the women with a 244.58 on the one-meter board a and a 247.05 on the three-meter board.
Firstie Catriona Gilmore and yearling Angie McKane both earned a pair of wins for the women as Gilmore earned wins in the 100 breast (1:02.51) and the 200 breast (2:16.57) while McKane earned 50 free (23.37) and the 100 fly (52.58).
Molly Webber and Layne Peterson brought home the other individual wins for the Army women as Webber clocked a 9:59.80 in the women's 1000 free and Peterson logged a 2:00.96 in the women's 200 back.
The Black Knights claimed wins in both of the day's relays as Angie McKane, Catriona Gilmore, Sydney Braeger, and Molly Webber put up a 1:42.14 in the women's 200 medley relay to open the meet and Tiana Mescher, Hadley King, Jenna Hart, and Angie McKane clocked a 1:32.07 in the women's 200 free relay to close out the meet with a win for Army.
