WEST POINT, N.Y. — The Army West Point Athletics Association's Academic Support team has announced its scholar-athletes selection for the month of September, recognizing men's soccer junior Owen Ennis and women's soccer senior Jordan Follenweider.
Owen Ennis '27 (men's soccer)
Cadet Owen Ennis is a junior and a co-captain on the Army West Point Men's Soccer Team who has distinguished himself as both a player and a leader.
On the field, he is known for his consistency, tactical awareness, and ability to elevate the performance of those around him. His coaches and teammates rely on his poise in high-pressure moments, where he sets the competitive tone and anchors the team with steady leadership. Being selected as co-captain as a junior underscores the trust and respect he has earned across the program.
In the classroom, Cadet Ennis has performed at a high level within one of West Point's most demanding majors. As an Electrical Engineering major, he has maintained a 3.527 CQPA, demonstrating intellectual agility and discipline in a technical and rigorous academic track. His academic performance is a testament to his ability to balance Division I athletics with the full demands of the Academy's academic program.
Beyond athletics and academics, Cadet Ennis embodies the traits of a developing Army officer and leader of character. He has earned the respect of his peers for his commitment, work ethic, and humility, serving as an example to younger teammates and classmates alike. His ability to excel in the Corps' three pillars—military, academic, and physical—demonstrates the holistic excellence West Point demands of its future officers.
Cadet Ennis is a standout cadet-athlete whose contributions on the soccer field, in the classroom, and within the Corps of Cadets represent the very best of Army West Point.
Jordan Follenweider '26 (women's soccer)
Cadet Jordan Follenweider is a center back on the Army Women's Soccer Team from Jacksonville, Florida, and the quintessential example of a Scholar-Athlete-Warrior.
Academically, Cadet Follenweider exemplifies academic excellence through consistent dedication and hard work. Jordan excels across all academic requirements, earning a 3.536 GPA and Dean's List recognition for four of her six semesters to date. Jordan selected to pursue a Systems Engineering degree with Honors, which incurred additional work and opportunity for Jordan to positively impact Soldiers, their families, and unit readiness. MAJ Oliver, her Honors Advisor, had this to say about Jordan, "Cadet Jordan Follenweider is, without exaggeration, the best cadet I have taught in SE370 and a top-tier collaborator on ongoing Honors research with XVIII Airborne Corps. She combines graduate-level technical ability with mature systems thinking, turning ambiguous, real-world Army problems into working, well-documented solutions. Jordan is disciplined, kind, unfailingly professional, and already operates at the level of an early-career analyst/engineer."
On the field, Jordan is equally talented. She has played every game for Army Women's Soccer since her freshman year, starting in more than half that year and in every game since her yearling year. She earned recognition as 2023 All Patriot League Third Team; 2025 All Patriot League Preseason Team; twice identified as Honorable Mention Patriot League Player of the Week (8/18/2025 and 9/1/2025) and recently earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week (9/15/2025). Despite these recognitions, the greatest testament to Jordan's impact on the team came from her peers who unanimously elected her an AWS Captain for the 2026 season.
Jordan is a warrior-leader of the highest caliber. In the Corps, Jordan excels in her current position as the Company Executive Officer for D3. She has served previously as 3rd Regimental S1 NCO and as a Platoon Sergeant for Cadet Field Training. From her TAC, CPT Brash, "In both positions, she excelled and received comments on her effectiveness with her teammates as well as her support to her leadership. I have worked with her throughout the past year, she has been huge value-added and a consistent presence in the company and leader on the soccer team". CDT Follenweider earned the Superintendent's Award for Achievement as a freshman and sophomore, Superintendent's Award as a junior, and has tabbed the IOCT. Jordan exemplifies well-rounded excellence and leadership by maintaining high academic performance, excelling in athletics, and demonstrating discipline and achievement in military training. She is recognized by peers as a trusted leader who inspires and motivates through teamwork, integrity, and dedication.
