WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Football head coach Jeff Monken has announced Tanner Anderson as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Anderson brings nearly a decade of collegiate performance coaching experience and will assist head strength coach Conor Hughes and his staff in the Black Knights' football strength and conditioning efforts.
"I'm honored to join the Brotherhood and contribute to the legacy of Army Football," said Anderson. "This is a special place, and I'm excited to serve the cadet-athletes with energy and purpose every day."
Anderson arrives at West Point after serving as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Robert Morris University, where he oversaw the training programs for 17 NCAA Division I teams. During his time with the Colonials, he led sport-specific performance plans for football, women's basketball, and men's and women's lacrosse, while managing a staff of assistant coaches and interns and coordinating operations across multiple training facilities.
Prior to his tenure at Robert Morris, Anderson spent four seasons at Missouri Western State University in a variety of roles, including Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and Interim Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. In these positions, he directed programming for several sports, contributed to football player development, and helped implement performance technology such as STAT Sports GPS tracking.
His coaching journey also includes internships with football at Virginia Tech and Olympic sports at the University of South Dakota, where he gained early experience designing workouts, teaching technique, and supporting athletes through data-driven performance strategies.
Anderson received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Sport Management from the University of South Dakota in 2018. He earned his Master's Degree from Missouri Western State University in 2020.
A certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), Anderson also holds certifications from USA Weightlifting (Level 1) and Reflexive Performance Reset (Level 1). His training philosophy centers on cultivating discipline, maximizing athletic potential, and building resilient, accountable teams.
