Army West Point Athletics

From the Desk of AD #31
May 15, 2025 | General
Hello Army West Point Community,
Welcome to another edition of From the Desk of AD #31 - a communication platform created to keep you informed, engaged, and connected with Army West Point Athletics and the Army West Point Athletic Association. Through this space, I aim to share important updates from our department, celebrate the achievements of our incredible cadet-athletes, discuss topics that enhance the fan experience, and offer perspective on the rapidly evolving landscape of college athletics. All of this ties back to the core pillars of our Fruits of Victory athletics strategic plan: Competitive Success, Delivering an Extraordinary Division I Experience, Public Engagement and Revenue Generation, and Sustainability.
An important update, last week we announced a coaching change within our Women's Basketball program. A national search is already underway, and I am highly optimistic about this process and finding out next leader.
On a personal note, I want to thank you for your continued support as I reach the 90-day mark in this role. It has been an incredible start to the journey, and I'm truly excited about to be serving in this role.
Baseball Marches on to Patriot League Championship
In gritty (Army) fashion, Army baseball defeated Navy in a best-of-three series last weekend to advance to the Patriot League Championship this weekend vs. Holy Cross.Â
Going into the day down 1-0 in the Patriot League Semifinal Series—and standing at 1-5 overall on the season against its arch-rival, Army won two games at Max Bishop Stadium in Annapolis to secure the playoff series and clinch a spot in next week's Patriot League Championship series.
Hot off the press! ??

The first title winner was Charlotte Richman, who won the 10,000m run with a 36:55.35 final time. Louisa Diamond finished the same place right behind Richman in second. One of the shining stars of the meet was Zoe Eggleston, who claimed her first Patriot League title in the heptathlon with 5056 total points. Highlights from Eggleston's victory include finishing first in the 200m dash, first in the 800m run and second in the 100m hurdles.Â

Appreciation to Softball and Women's Lacrosse for Great Seasons!Â
The Black Knights finished the 2025 season 35-22 overall with a 16-2 conference record. The sixteen wins in conference set a program record for most Patriot League wins in a season.
Army also finished the season as the Patriot League regular season champion, claiming the title outright for the first time since 2010.
Junior Ashton White was named Patriot League Player of the Year, while head coach Jen Consaul was named Coach of the Year.
A program record nine Black Knights were named to a Patriot League All-League Team, with three being named to the First Team (Ashton White, Taylor Brown and Katelyn Flanders) and six being named to the Second Team (Annie Christiana, Sienna Tepley, Caitlyn Newburn, Emma Murchison, Maaika Dones and Breanna Izzo).
The Black Knights finish the Patriot League Championship as the runner-up and look to be in contention again in 2026! Â
Thank you to our friends, family and fans for an incredible season!

Congratulations to our team on an historic season in winning a regular season championship and setting program records in most conference wins and most All-League honorees in a single season??#GoArmy pic.twitter.com/6DL7DZlXuc
Women's Lacrosse finished the season with a 13-4 overall record and made their second program appearance in the NCAA tournament.  Brigid Duffy scored 64 goals, breaking Army's single-season goal record set by Jackie Brattan in 63 goals in 2019.
Â
Men's Lacrosse's Jackson Eicher was named a finalist for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award, which is presented annually to the nation's top player.Â
Eicher and the nine other finalists have been invited to the nation's capital for the annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony, taking place on May 29th. He set a new program record with 54 goals this season and moved into the top 20 of Army's all-time scoring list with 147 career points.
With Eicher's finalist nomination, Army becomes the only school since the inception of the Tewaaraton Award in 2001 that has had a top 10 finisher in the nation's premier award in each of football, hockey, and men's lacrosse in the same athletic season.
Bryson Daily (Heisman Trophy) and Mac Gadowsky (Hobey Baker) were top 10Â for their respective sports awards earlier this year.
This athletic season (2024-25), we finished with an overall record of 22-18 vs. Navy, including the Star Series victory as well. It is only the second time since the Star Series was started in 1977-78 that we have swept both, with the other coming in 2013-14.Â
Â
Army Succeeds in APR
The NCAA released its four-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) earlier this week, and five Army athletic programs earned perfect scores of 1000, while six programs placed in the top 10% nationally. The programs recognized with perfect scores were Rifle, Softball, Women's Basketball, Women's Cross Country, and Women's Tennis. Baseball also ranked in the top 10% nationally.
