No. 19 Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 21 Navy in Patriot League Semifinals

BALTIMORE, MD - No. 19 Army West Point women's lacrosse (13-3, 8-1 Patriot League) was defeated by a score of 18-9 in the Patriot League Semifinals to No. 21 Navy (14-5, 7-2 Patriot League) from Ridley Athletic Complex on Thursday night.
The Midshipmen got out to an early lead and never trailed while dominating the draw control 24-6 for the game. Shots were 36-25 in favor of Navy with shots on goals a 26-18 difference.
Allison Reilly led the Black Knights with a game-high seven points through four goals and three assists. Her 96th point of the campaign gave her the new single season program record, surpassing her own mark of 95 from 2024. Her final point of the night put her over the century mark on the season as the lone Black Knight to ever achieve the feat.
Navy got out to a fast start with two quick goals off winning the first pair of draw controls, but Army answered quickly through Brigid Duffy off the third draw of the game.
The teams went back and forth as Chloe Garrett got the next two for the Black Knights after assisting on Duffy's opener for a three-point opening quarter. Allison Reilly picked up the fourth goal of the game for Army as Navy took a 5-4 lead into the second quarter, outshooting Army 9-8 in the opening 15 minutes.
The Midshipmen would dominate the draw control in the second quarter, winning all eight draws and getting out a 10-6 lead at halftime. Reilly got her second goal off a caused turnover where she knocked the ball loose from the Navy goalkeeper's stick as she went on to assist Alyce Smith for Army's only other goal before half.
Navy ended the first half on a 3-0 spurt and would also score the first of the second half, putting Navy ahead 11-6. Army struggled to score at even strength, with two of its three second half goals coming while a woman-up. Gabrielle Mirak notched the first of the half for Army in the third quarter with Reilly accounting for the final two including the lone fourth quarter tally.
Navy outscored the Black Knights in every quarter to secure its spot in the championship game with a final scoreline of 18-9.
Lindsey Serafine made eight saves in the cage for Army while Reilly Sullivan contributed two caused turnovers with two ground balls and Lily Valentini added three caused turnovers to go with her two assists offensively.
The Black Knights will look to secure an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, with the selection show slated for 9 p.m. on Sunday on ESPNU.
