Swimming & Diving Places Seven on College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Teams

AUSTIN, Texas – Army West Point swimming & diving continued to earn accolades for their impressive 2024-25 campaign as seven team members were selected for the 2024-25 College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Teams. Meghan Cole, Maggie Kroening, Layne Peterson, and Molly Webber represented Army on the women's team while CJ Bernauer, Joey Kling, and Alex Zhang represented the Black Knights on the men's side.
In order to be considered for the Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, enrolled in their institution at the time of nomination, possess a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and compete in five competitions or finish in the top eight at a conference meet.
Meghan Cole | Senior | Frederick, Md.
Cole, a 2025 Patriot League All-Academic Team member and 2025 First Team All-Patriot League selection, competed in all 12 meets while pursuing her degree in Operations Research. Cole helped the Black Knights to a memorable 10-2 record this season including the women's team's first win over Navy since 1988. A team captain, Cole herself helped set a trio of program records this season with a 22.52 in the 50 free, a 1:39.42 in the 200 medley relay, and a 1:31.34 in the 200 free relay. Cole earned second place in the 50 free at the Patriot League Championships with a 22.70.
Maggie Kroening | Senior | Castle Rock, Colo.
Kroening, a 2025 Patriot League All-Academic Team member and 2025 Second Team All-Patriot League selection, competed in all 12 meets this season while pursuing her degree in Engineering Psychology. A team captain, Kroening was a strong leader for the Black Knights, earning 25 top five finishes this season including a fourth place finish in the 200 fly (2:00.40) at the Patriot League Championships, earning third in the 200 fly (2:00.63) against Navy, and claiming first in the 200 fly (1:59.92) against Penn State.
Layne Peterson | Junior | Hightstown, N.J.
Peterson competed in all 12 meets this season for the Black Knights while pursuing her degree in English. The program record holder for the women's 200 back, Peterson tallied 19 top five finishes this season including first place finishes in the 200 back against Navy (1:58.39) and against Penn State (1:59.45).
Molly Webber | Junior | Morris Plains, N.J.
Molly Webber, a 2025 Patriot League All-Academic Team member and 2025 First Team All-Patriot League selection, competed in all 12 meets this season while pursuing her degree in Computer Science. Webber was a key contributor in Army's lineup, helping the Black Knights set program records for the 100 free (49.89), 500 free (4:46.20), 1650 free (16:30.96), and 200 free relay (1:31.34). Webber dominated at the Patriot League Championships, winning all but two events she was in to earn the Women's Co-Highest Point Scorer award as she earned first place and Patriot League Champion in the 400 free relay (3:20.27), the 200 free (1:47.74), the 800 free relay (7:15.17), the 500 free (4:46.20), and the 1650 free (16:30.96).
CJ Bernauer | Senior | Parsippany, N.J.
Bernauer, a 2025 Second Team All-Patriot League selection, competed in nine meets while pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Bernauer was a dependable performer for the Black Knights, helping Army earn its first sweep over Navy in 36 years. Bernauer totaled 13 top five finishes over the season including a first-place finish in the 200 IM (1:52.26) at the Wolfpack Elite Invitational and a third-place finish in the 400 IM (3:50.91) at the 2025 Patriot League Championships.
Joey Kling | Junior | Brea, Calif.
Kling, a member of the 2025 Patriot League All-Academic Team and a 2025 First Team All-Patriot League selection, competed in 10 meets this season while pursuing his degree in Mechanical Engineering. A standout for the Black Knights, Kling helped Army to an impressive 8-2 record this season including setting a program record for the 200 IM at the 2025 Patriot League Championships with a 1:45.22. Kling collected 27 top five finishes over the season including first place in the 200 IM both at the 2025 Patriot League Championships (1:45.42) and against Navy (1:46.27).
Alex Zhang | Junior | Greenlawn, N.Y.
Zhang competed in eight meets while pursuing his degree in Engineering Management. Zhang helped the Army men's diving team earned 10 top five finishes over the season. He earned first place on the three-meter board against Boston U. with a score of 300.90.
