Hammond, Hecht & Kampert Named March Scholar-Athletes of the Month by Center for Enhanced Performance

WEST POINT, NY -Â Â The Army West Point Athletics Association's Academic Support team has selected its scholar-athletes for the month of March, recognizing football and men's track & field sophomore Jaxon Hammond, women's track & field sophomore Jordan Hecht, and women's lacrosse senior Haley Kampert.

Haley Kampert '25 (women's lacrosse)
Cadet Haley Kampert, a starting defender and one of three captains of the Army Women's Lacrosse team is a leader on and off the field. Noto Family Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Michelle Tumolo described her as the ultimate teammate. "Haley has an infectious energy about her. She shows up every day and gives the best of herself to her teammates regardless of circumstance. She is an exceptional leader both on and off the field with her communication, intensity and passion. Off the field Haley is someone our players rely on for mentorship, positivity and accountability. Haley is an absolute pleasure to have on our team and is a huge part of our success."
Off the field, Haley is committed to developing others, setting the standard in all that she does, and meeting every challenge with poise, professionalism, and unwavering determination. Haley is a prime example of the engaged and dynamic leaders West Point is committed to developing.
In addition to her athletic contributions, Haley demonstrates a consistently high academic performance. Nominated for several post-graduate scholarship opportunities, Haley has an active research agenda. She is currently working in coordination with medical professionals at Keller Army Community Hospital and the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering on tendon repair suture techniques. Her research contributions have the potential to help future warfighters. Engaged in her major beyond the classroom, Haley participates in the Academy's Mechanical Engineering Club and the Society of American Military Engineers Club. As her Firstie year sunsets, Haley is on target to achieve a 3.5 cumulative GPA. An exceptional performance by a cadet who brings a smile and excitement to everything she does.
A natural leader, Haley is consistently selected for more demanding leadership roles within the Corps of Cadets. Last year she served as her company First Sergeant and this year she demonstrated her mettle as a Platoon Leader. With the utmost military bearing, Haley is an example for all cadets. Her cumulative military GPA above a B+ reflects her development over the course of her cadet career and her continued drive to excellence. A quiet professional, she readily draws others in to ensure the standards are understood and to provide the guidance necessary to better the whole. A natural leader, her energy, passion, and unparalleled ability to engage with peers, junior cadets, and leaders are instrumental to building teams.
Haley's commitment to leadership in military, physical, and academic requirements is commendable. She represents the best that the United States Military Academy has to offer.

- A two-sport athlete, Jaxon is a cornerback on the Army Football Team and a sprinter with Track and Field
- Earned 2024-2025 Indoor Track & Field Academic All-Patriot League Team honors
- Patriot League Champion and Academy Record holder in the 100m dash (10.42 seconds)
- 2025 Star meet champion in the 60m dash, and bronze medalist in 60m dash at the 2025 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships

- Chemistry major with a 3.79 Academic GPA, balancing a demanding academic program with high-level athletic performance.
- As a yearling, Patriot League Indoor Championship Silver Medalist in the shot put, setting a personal record of 15.61m.Â
- Her 15.61m throw is the 4th best mark of all time in the shot put at West Point, a testament to her explosive growth and exceptional potential.
- A powerful and confident presence on the team, leading by example with her competitive mindset and dedication.
- Originally from Apple Valley, Minnesota, Jordan is proving to be a rising force in Army Track & Field, excelling in both the classroom and competition.
