Women's Lacrosse Matches Program Record with Two Goals Allowed at Lafayette

EASTON, PA – Army West Point women's lacrosse (8-2, 3-1 Patriot League) was dominant throughout in a 21-2 victory at Lafayette (5-6, 1-3 Patriot League) on Saturday afternoon from Fisher Stadium.
The two goals allowed matched a program record for the Black Knights, with the other occurrence also coming against the Leopards in 2022.
Army's defense was in control throughout, led by Lindsey Serafine in goal who made ten saves while allowing just one goal.
Allison Reilly had nine points through five goals and four assists while Brigid Duffy had a game-high seven goals to go along with seven draw controls and three ground balls.
Lily Valentini netted a hat trick for Army, while Gabrielle Mirak added a pair of goals and Chloe Garrett had a three-point effort.
Mirroring the start against Stanford, Reilly was doing all of the scoring early on, as the junior notched a natural hat trick to start the game for the second time in four days. The first came just 19 seconds in on a free-position attempt, with the second coming off a feed from Chloe Garrett behind the cage before an unassisted tally.
Serafine was in good form early on, stopping the first four shots that she faced the blank the Leopards through the opening 13:55.
Duffy scored consecutive goals which eventually made it 6-0 Army before the Leopards got on the scoresheet with 1:05 to go. Army made it 7-1 at the first break as Reilly caused a late turnover and finished off her one-on-one with Lafayette goalkeeper.
Army continued its defensive dominance in the second quarter as Serafine made save after save to shut out Lafyaette in the frame. Serafine went into halftime with nine saves and one goal allowed.
Duffy scored two more in the second while Gabrielle Mirak got her first and Reilly added her fifth to put Army ahead 12-1 at halftime.
Army continued to dominate in the second half, shutting out the Leopards once again in the third quarter as they mustered just one shot on goal.
The Black Knights scored five times in the quarter from five different goal scorers, while forcing five turnovers to see the scoreline 17-1 heading into the fourth.
Reilly picked up her ninth point of the game to begin the fourth with a feed to Ryan Remaly for her first goal of the contest. Duffy then scored the next two as she matched her career-high with seven goals.
Emma Grace Hepler scored the 21st and final goal for the Black Knights, as Anderson Strange came in between the pipes for Army in the closing minutes, making a save.
Lafayette got its second goal with 86 seconds remaining to bring the final score to 21-2, as Army improves to 3-1 in conference play.
The Black Knights will return on Saturday at American, with opening draw set for noon in the nation's capital.
