Gymnastics Edged in Tri-Meet with Illinois & Greenville

URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, IL - Army West Point gymnastics recorded a score of 307.500 in a tri-meet hosting by the University of Illinois. The Fighting Illini won the meet with a 316.700 mark while Greenville came in with a 309.250.

Ben Aguilar posted a season-high from any Black Knight in floor exercise, also topping the rest of the field on the day with his 13.850, helping Army to a team mark of 51.550 as Joseph Buselmeier logged a 13.500.
Army logged a team-high for the season on vault with a 54.300 as Nick Lester led the way with a 13.530 showing while Jaden Blank came in with a 13.700.
Jacob Brenner also had a season-best mark in vault with a 13.350, while also pacing the Black Knights on parallel bars with a 12.500.
Maddox Pabellon continued to impress on pommel horse, placing second at the meet with a 14.550 which also marked a new season-best for the junior.
Conor Heary (12.850) and Gabe Almeida (12.750) led the Black Knights on still rings, with Army's team score of 50.300, just two .250 off the pace of Illinois.
Buselmeier also came in with a 12.900 on high bar with Cash Johnston posting a 12.750 as Army reached a 49.800 team score in the event.
Army will return home for a tri-meet at West Point on Friday, March 14th at 6:00 p.m., playing host to Simpson College and the Air Force Academy.
