Gymnastics Defeats Air Force & Simpson on Senior Night

WEST POINT , NY – Army West Point gymnastics collected a victory in its tri-meet on senior night against Air Force and Simpson College.
The Black Knights posted a team-score of 311.450 to best the Falcons' mark of 307.850 and the 295.400 from Simpson. FULL RESULTS.
Army honored its senior class as part of the meet recognizing the class of 2025 comprised of Gabe Almeida, Tucker Blanchard and Joseph Buselmeier.
Army had three individual event winners in total, as Maddox Pabellon (pommel horse), Nick Lester (vault) and Conor Heary (still rings) each topped the leaderboard.
Pabellon logged a 14.00 on pommel to record another victory in the event, as Army boasted a 52.95 in the event to comfortably lead it by over two points. Army tabbed the 3-5 positions in the event as well through Noah Duran (13.250), Jake Prabhakaran (12.900) and a season-best from Ben Aguilar (12.800) to round out the well-balanced output.
Heary posted a 13.000 to outright lead the event on still rings, with Army also taking the team portion with its 48.800 mark. Heary's score was a new career-best for the plebe. Almeida helped pace the squad with a 12.350 which placed him fourth individually.
Lester's 14.200 on vault also marked a new season-best for the sophomore as Army took the event with a 53.900 team score. Jaden Blank (13.700) came in fifth to help pace the Black Knights while Pabellon came in with a 13.300.
High bar saw Army place three in the top-four led by Cash Johnston's career-high of 13.200. Prabhakaran placed third with a 13.200 and Blank contributed 12.800 as Army's team mark of 51.000 was just .250 off the lead.
Heary also led Army on parallel bars with a 13.300, marking another career-high in the process. Johnston compiled a 13.050 while Noah Duran logged a 12.900 to give Army three in the top-six and team score of 51.700.
Floor exercise saw the Black Knights led by Max Rubin and a new season-high of 13.700 in the event which was good for second place. Aguilar also placed fourth with his 13.400 while Blank recorded a 13.150 for sixth-place and a 53.100 mark for the team.
Army will return for the USAG Collegiate Nationals from March 21-22 in Annapolis, Md.
