Baseball Returns Home to Face Maine Wednesday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Baseball returns to Doubleday Field Wednesday to face the Maine Black Bears.

First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. and the matchup will be streamed on ESPN+.

Notes and Storylines

» Army renews its all-time series vs. the Maine Black Bears Wednesday at Doubleday Field. Army last saw Maine a season ago in DeLand, Fla., an 8-2 win for Army on February 25, 2024.

In what was the weekend finale of a round robin between Fordham, Stetson and Maine at Stetson in 2024, Bryce Brownlee struck out four across four innings, Chris Barr went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, and Ethan Ellis hit a two-run home run in the first inning.

» Chris Barr was a double away from the cycle in Army's series finale at Navy Sunday, going 4-for-5 with a seventh inning home run.

Barr's 19 hits and two home runs currently lead the Black Knights.

» Justin Lehman picked up a complete game in Game 1 of Army's doubleheader at Navy Saturday, the first complete game of any length for Army this season to date, as well as his second career complete game vs. Navy. His appearance was also his third quality start of the season.

Lehman's complete-game was the first by a Black Knight, regardless of innings in a game, since Matthew Ronnebaum record a seven-inning complete-game vs. Lehigh on May 4, 2024.

» Andrew Berg tossed a career-high 8.1 innings in Army's Game 2 doubleheader win at Navy on Saturday. His eight strikeouts also tied a career-high. From the third inning into the ninth, Berg retired 17 of 18 batters faced.

» In Army's series finale at Navy Sunday, McKillop went 3-for-3 with a trio of doubles, the first three-double game from a Black Knight since Anthony Giachin at Lehigh May 26, 2021 in Game 1 of the Patriot League Championship Series.

Next Up

Army hits the road for a pair of doubleheaders this weekend, seeing Lafayette for two games Saturday in Easton, Pa. before making the quick trip to Bethlehem Sunday at Lehigh. First pitch for both twin bills is 12:00 p.m.
