Bret Wingard Earn Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore jumper Bret Wingard earned his first Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week honor, the league announced on Tuesday.
Bret Wingard earned Patriot League Men's Field Athlete of the Week after earning a victory in the triple jump with a 15.02m (49' 3.5") mark.The Black Knight sophomore is tied for the best mark in the League this season. He is also now holds the seventh all-time best mark in the event in Army Track and Field's program history.
Army West Point's James Beckett, who earned second place in the triple jump just behind Wingard at the Eagle Elite Invitational, earned a honorable mention for the weekly awards.
Wingard and the Black Knights return to Gillis Field House on January 22 for the West Point Tune Up, the final meet before the Patriot League Indoor Championships on March 1-2. The meet is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start on Saturday.
