Wrestling Travels to Nebraska for First Dual; Also Competing in Journeyman Sunday
November 06, 2025 | Wrestling
LINCOLN, Neb. – Army West Point wrestling will be on display twice this weekend, including for its opening dual of the 2025-26 season.
Â
The Black Knights take on Nebraska Friday night at the Devaney Center in Lincoln. The dual will be streamed on B1G+, with a subscription required to access the match. First bout is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. CT.Â
Â
The squad will then regroup Sunday and compete at the Journeyman Collegiate Classic at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pa.
Â
Army finished 8-3 in duals a season ago, including a 5-2 mark vs. EIWA opponents. The Black Knights also notched a 20-19 dual win (by criteria) over Big Ten foe Purdue in Buffalo, N.Y., which was Army's first dual win over a power conference opponent since the 2019-20 season.Â
Â
Friday night will serve as Troy Nickerson's first dual in his tenure as Class of 1972 Head Men's Wrestling Coach, of which he was tapped for in June.Â
Â
Army opened its campaign November 2 at the Princeton Open, claiming four individual titles and sending 16 wrestlers to the podium. For the first time in the program's 104-year history, a female wrestler won an individual tournament title, with Clare Booe taking the women's 117 lb championship.
Â
After Army's dual at Nebraska, select Black Knight wrestlers will compete at the Journeyman Collegiate Classic. The action from Bethlehem opens at 9:00 a.m. and will be streamed on FloWrestling.
Â
The event will not act like a traditional dual or tournament, but rather see each wrestler divided into pools. Each pool will act as a round robin, with all entrants guaranteed at least three matches. Select pool winners will wrestle other pool winners.Â
