On the opposite side of the ice, the Falcons placed Lukas Swedin in the goal where he earned 26 saves on the Black Knights' 27 shots on goal.

Army came out of the first intermission on a power play looking to claim a lead over Bentley, but good defense from Swedin and the Falcons kept Army off the board in the first three minutes of the frame.
The tide turned jsut after the three-minute mark however, as the Black Knights net the first goal of the game. After the faceoff win by Adam Marshall, Brock Jones sent a pass over to Stephen Willey who took a shot that skirted past the outside edge of Swedin's stick and into the back of the net.
The goal for Willey marks his second career goal as he has scored both against the Falcons at Tate Rink.
Army continued to hold Bentley off the board, shutting down a power play opportunity after eleven minutes had elapsed in the second period.
The Falcons eventually found the back of the net with just under five minutes of play left before the second intermission to tie the score at one apiece.
Despite offensive efforts from both teams throughout the remainder of the second frame, both defenses held strong to send the game into the third period on a tie.
The Black Knights came out of the second intermission looking to reclaim the lead with two shots on goal in the first two minutes. Bentley would respond with four shots on goal of their own but neither team managed to break through in the opening minutes of play.
Shortly following another scoreless power play opportunity by Army, Bentley took the lead for the first time in the contest on a goal with four minutes left to play.
With the clock winding down, another Falcons penalty gave Army a chance to tie it up before the buzzer. The Black Knights looked to take advantage of their sixth power play opportunity of the night, pulling their goalie to gain an extra man on offense.
Bentley took advantage of the empty net to score their third goal of the night with just over a minute left to play to put the game away.
