Women’s Rugby Welcomes Navy for Star Game

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's rugby team is set for its most anticipated regular season game of the year on Saturday at noon, as it welcomes Navy to the Anderson Rugby Complex for the Star Game, which is part of the Army-Navy Star Series Presented by USAA.
Army (5-2, 4-2 NIRA) is in the midst of a three-game winning streak and is coming off an exhibition contest against La Salle last Saturday. The Black Knights have had some dominant victories this season, including a 75-point win over Queens (N.C.), a 60-0 win over Brown and a 69-0 win over Davenport. The Black Knights have scored 252 points this season while allowed just 83. Both of those marks are good for second in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA).
Alissa Eisenhart, the most accomplished player in program history, continues to impress in every single match. She leads Army in points this season with 77, which includes a team-best 33 conversions. She has also added a try, and two penalty kicks this season. Leading the team in tries this season is Cassidy Ball with eight, while Gabby Woenker and Yesenia Morales are behind her with six.
Morales has been impressive not just offensively but also on the defensive side of the field. She leads the team with 49 tackles while ranking third on the team with 30 points. The Black Knights have six players this season with 25-plus points.
Army has dominated the all-time series against Navy, posting an impressive 19-0 record. The Black Knights are 2-0 against Navy in the Star Series presented by USAA. Last season, Army recorded a 41-0 victory in Annapolis. Stevie-Rae Ricklick, Chloe De Leon, Cecilia Ollis and Morales all added tries in the victory.
Scouting Navy
Navy ranks sixth in the NIRA Power Rankings with a 3-2 conference record, while scoring 148 points in league play. Mia Young leads the team with 30 points and 10 conversions. Caroline Shegogue is first on the team with five tries.
