Men’s Rugby Returns to Action at Mount St. Mary’s (MD)
October 24, 2025 | Men's Rugby
EMMITSBURG, Md. – After a pair of bye weeks, Army West Point men's rugby returns to its fall 2025 slate in Maryland with a Saturday fixture at Mount St. Mary's (MD).
Kickoff from Echo Field is set for 12:00 p.m., with Mount All-Access streaming the match.
"We're looking forward to getting back on the field after a brief break, and particularly excited about taking on the daunting challenge of playing a very good Mount St. Mary's team on the road. We've been working hard to make targeted improvements, and we are determined to execute those improvements in a new best performance Saturday," said head coach Matt Sherman.
Army goes into the match with a 4-1 record, coming off a pair of one-sided wins vs. Southern Virginia and at Mary Washington.
The Mountaineers meanwhile enter the contest 3-1 overall, fresh off a win over Penn State October 11.
The Black Knights are 2-0 all-time vs. The Mount, having won 25-13 in last year's CRAA D1A Playoffs Round of 16 match at West Point.
Statistically, Howie Heller leads the Black Knights with 34 points, including 10 conversions, three penalties and a try. Chance Loudenback—with his four tries—is second on the squad with 20 points.
Army is back in action after this weekend with a Halloween matchup at rival Air Force in Colorado Springs.
