Women’s Rugby Dominates Exhibition Games Against La Salle

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Army West Point women's rugby program dominated a three-period exhibition against La Salle on Saturday afternoon.
Due to La Salle roster constraints, the two teams agreed to play a 10s game instead of a typical 15s game. The contest counts as an exhibition for Army, who remain 5-2 in NIRA play this season.
Gabby Thornton opened the scoring for Army with a try just under three minutes into action, with Emily Vizcarra adding the conversion. Seven and a half minutes later, Tatiana Stockbower added Army's second try. Molly Kennedy was good on the conversion. Through the opening period of play, Army led 14-0.
The second period opened with Chloe De Leon recording a penalty try to make it 19-0 in favor of the Black Knights. De Leon followed with another try to make it 24-0. The final score of the second period came from Sumaiya Aamoud, whose try made it 29-0.
Thornton added her second try of the day to open the third period and after Vizcarra's conversion, the Army lead moved to 36-0. Sara Fenimore added the final try of the afternoon to make it 41-0. Vizcarra's conversion made the final score 43-0.
