Women’s Rugby Sweeps Trio of Games Against La Salle

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Army West Point women's program swept a trio of exhibition games against La Salle on Saturday afternoon.
Due to La Salle roster constraints, the two teams agreed to play three 10s games instead of a typical 11s game. All three games count as exhibitions for Army, who remain 5-2 in NIRA play this season.
The Black Knights won the first contest 21-0. Ella-May Campbell opened the scoring for Army with a try just under three minutes into action, with Rebekah Shepkofsky adding the conversion. Seven and a half minutes later, Tatiana Stockbower added Army's second try. Emily Steen was good on the conversion. The final score of the opening game saw Chloe De Leon record a penalty try to make it 21-0.
In game two, De Leon opened with her second try of the day to make it 5-0. Sara Fenimore followed with a try of her own four minutes later to give Army a 10-0 advantage. La Salle added its first score at the 10-minute mark to make the final score 10-7 in favor of the Black Knights.
La Salle opened the scoring in the final game and jumped ahead 5-0. Campbell scored two minutes later, and following a conversion by Shepkofsky, Army took a 7-0 lead. De Leon's third try of the game and another successful conversion from Shepkofsky, gave the Black Knights a 14-5 lead. La Salle had the final score of the day to make it 14-10 Army.
